How Importance is Giving Thanks?

Thanks, thank you, I appreciate it, thanks a lot, it was so awesome of you, you are the best, or beyond grateful are just multiple ways of saying you are thankful for something.🥰

Sometimes saying thank you becomes a habit. You say it so much it can lose some of its meaning. Or it can be the opposite. You can not say it enough. You feel like they should just know you appreciate it or it goes unsaid. It’s a taboo but saying thank you and showing appreciation is so important with our human relationships but also in our relationship with God. It’s the will of God for us.

“Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 KJV

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Philippians 4:6 KJV

We are instructed to pray and also give thanks.🙏🏼 I know sometimes I am guilty of having a very brief “thank you Jesus for solving this problem now can you fix …”. It’s like once he’s fixed one thing we have our laundry list of other things we want and need him to fix. What would happen if we would stay in the thanks for awhile? Really show him how grateful we are for all the wonderful things he is doing for us.

Sometimes it’s hard to be thankful in the middle of the storm or the mess you are in. Sometimes we caused our mess and sometimes we are in a storm to learn something but the Bible even calls it a sacrifice. Even though it doesn’t feel good to us, or we don’t want to, if we will give a sacrifice of praise, God will honor that. ❤️ I would rather sacrifice and do that than have to pull out an altar and sacrifice animals like they used to!

So whatever you do, Give thanks. Thanks in the hard, thanks in the easy, thanks for your food🍕, for you house, for electricity, a bill, a car, a house, a candy bar🍫, a person, a pet, just something, big or small that you can be thankful for, because God is GOOD, and his mercy endureth forever!
